The PADI Divemaster is the first level and start of your career as a PADI dive professional. Divemasters act as role models, mentors, and guides for divers all across the world. On the PADI Divemaster course, you will work closely with a PADI Instructor to enhance and fine tune your diving and rescue skills. You will go over a multitude of different possible problems that divers may encounter and practice solving them until your actions become second nature.
As a PADI Divemaster you will be leading and taking charge of dive activities, ensuring the safety and handling the overall diving experience of your dive group. The course includes practical training on supervising and managing dive activities, conducting dive briefings, diver risk assessment and management, search and rescue, and assisting in Discover Scuba Diving programs.
To be eligible for the PADI Divemaster course you will need to be a certified PADI Rescue Diver and have completed an Emergency First Response training course within the past 24 months.
To begin the PADI Divemaster course you will also need at least 40 logged dives, and no less than 60 dives to earn the certification.
Enrolling in the Divemaster course, you must have your own equipment, including a dive computer, dive knife and at least two surface signaling devices.
